Historical Data Migration is an additional service available to clients.  With a Historical Data Migration, we can import your city's permit data from your previously used software in to the ViewPoint cloud site, providing you with more information about locations.

What do I need to integrate?

We need a full export of your historical data.  This can be sent to us via an FTP site. We'll do a test import first to allow you to review the data and how it's formatting on your ViewPoint site.  Then we'll do a final import when you're ready to officially make the switch from your old system to ViewPoint.

What does the integration do?

It allows you to have a more complete picture of your permitting history.  You'll be able to see past permits for properties as well as run reports that include that historical information.

What are the preferred formats?
sql database, Excel, flat files (delimited text files, preferably not commas unless it also has string delimiters: “field1”,”string with a, comma”, tab and pipe(|) delimited usually work well), Access databases

How do I set up the integration?

The integration is completed by a ViewPoint staff member.  If you have this service, it will be set up during your implementation.   We will provide you with tips and recommendations to guide you through review process.

Please contact us if you have any more questions.
