What to do if an applicant disputes their payment

If an applicant disputes their charge, Stripe will notify us at ViewPoint. We will then notify the person who is listed as the main contact in Stripe via email. At this point, the dispute is currently under investigation, so we recommend that you reach out to the applicant directly to try to resolve it.

Stripe takes about 5-8 weeks to investigate a dispute. Once the investigation is completed, they will notify us again to let us know the result. We will reach out to the person listed as the Stripe contact again to relay those results.

If the applicant loses the dispute: The payment in ViewPoint Cloud can remain as is.

If the applicant wins the dispute: Stripe will remove the funds from your account. You will also need to go to the Payment step in the record and Void the payment so that it's no longer included in your reports as paid.
